It's You

This song is about the joy of the Lord. I wrote this song in a season of singleness during my twenties in which I was tasting for the first time what it meant to feel whole.

I felt complete, hopeful and joyful like never before. I felt safe, unafraid, and had such peace.

I understood what the Apostle Paul meant when he said he was content regardless of the situation (Philipians 4:12). The Word says that in the presence of God there is fullness of joy (Psalm 16:11) - satiety of joy. Enough, more than enough to satisfy the extremest cravings of the human heart. Christ knows us deeply and is the only one able to satisfy us completely. The hunger of our spirit is fed to capacity in His presence. When we know this, we can release others from unrealistic expectations that they are not equipped to meet. Our relationships were never meant to complete us, but rather to enrich our lives. The good news is that there is no lack in Christ.
